Video Pipeline Inspection Services
Offering Digital, High Definition, and Standard Definition Cameras
R&R Visual, Inc. offers a full line of standard and high definition video inspection services for a wide range of sewer applications. Video cameras coupled with our robotic transports allow for specially trained operators to inspect areas that are physically too small or too dangerous for a human. All cameras are full color and produce broadcast quality images. Pipelines of nearly any diameter can be inspected using our services. R&R Visual utilizes the following instruments to perform video based inspection services:
Use Settings To Switch To 1080p HD For Best Quality
Pan & Tilt Camera Systems
These unique cameras allow the operator to point the camera and lighting assembly at the area to be inspected. This provides a very detailed inspection of interior pipe walls. Camera head is capable of panning a full 360 degrees and rotating a full 360 degrees.
Robotic Transports for Pipeline
R&R Visual uses a wide range of different camera transports to inspect sewer pipelines. Most all of R&R Visual’s pipeline robotics are wheeled tractors with variable speed controllers and are steerable. All transports are engineered to be as heavy as possible to assist in traction to travel long distances in subpar environments.
Small Steerable Robotic Tractor
4″ to 32″ Diameter Pipelines
R&R Visual can inspect distance and pipe sizes never before thought possible. This robotic inspection system can also be coupled with a laser profiler for measuring pipe diameter as well as an inclinometer for measuring pipe grade.
Medium Steerable Robotic Tractor
6″ to 72″ Diameter Pipelines
R&R Visual utilizes this work horse camera system to complete nearly 50% of its inspections. The features and benefits of this tractor allow us to provide our customers with high accuracy and detail inspections. Laser defect measurement, radio sonde transmitters, and pipe diameter measure are also built into this inspection robot. Optional laser profiling and grade inclination measurement is available with this systems.
Large Robotic Tractor System
24″ to 120″ Diameter Pipelines
R&R Visual specializes in large bore pipeline inspection with a full tool box of inspection instruments for these pipelines. Our full color, always upright pan & tilt camera offer superior image quality that give our customers the most professional inspections available. Coupled with laser measurement, laser, profiling, inclinometers, and even sonar profilers, our operators can give you a tremendous amount of accurate information quickly.
Lateral Launching Services
R&R Visual utilizes the latest lateral launching robotics from IBAK. These robots allow our experienced operators to inspect lateral pipes going to the homes and businesses from the main sewer pipeline. The launch camera is a full pan and tilt camera with steering to ensure 100% pipe coverage when it matters most. R&R can launch from 6″ to 48″ mainlines and inspect laterals up to 100 feet from the main. Our operators can launch from 20 to 60 laterals per day, some of the highest production rates in the industry. R&R Visual has a complete list of service partners utilizing this same equipment worldwide.
Push Rod Cameras for Small Diameter Pipelines and Boreholes
Push propelled pan & tilt cameras are used to inspect small diameter pipelines with extended distances. Pipelines from 1 inch and up, with lateral length up to 500 feet can be inspected with these broadcast quality camera systems. A unique feature is the self uprighting camera. This allows the picture to always stay upright on the screen even if the camera flips over. This prevents confusion when viewing later.
Steerable Pan & Tilt Push Camera
2″ to 8″ Diameter Pipelines up to 200 ft. Distance
Our operators can complete navigate and map your pipe network using this unique inspection device. The camera’s navigation stick can be positioned to direct the camera in tee’s and riser pipes. Customers can now view pipeline that they never thought that they would see.
Explosion Proof Push Cameras
These cameras meet the demands of industrial applications where explosion proof is needed due to gases and fumes. Some systems that R&R Visual utilizes are available as explosion proof.
Handheld Camera System for Walking Pipelines and Tunnels
This camera is controlled by the operator in one of our mobile video studios while one of the operators walks through the pipeline. This is an exceptional method of collecting subsurface data when the feel of a person is needed. The camera is complimented with optical and digital zoom, auto focus, laser defect measurement and high intensity LED lighting. Distance of up to 2,000 feet from a single entry point can be achieved. Safety is of the upmost importance with this system. R&R Visual downhole personnel are in constant bi-direction 2-way communications with the operator in the studio. Even more, a Kevlar reinforced life line is constantly attached to the down hole personnel. High quality gas detector continuously monitor air quality to warn of any potential hazards. These systems can be complimented with laser measurement, diameter measurement, full pan & tilt, always upright picture control, and complete extensive software and reporting packages.

Frequently Asked Questions
R&R Visual has the ability to inspect up to 2,000 linear feet from a single entry point. Effectively allowing our technicians to inspect an up to 4,000 linear foot section of pipeline from 2 entries. Typical inspection vehicles have 1,640 feet of cable, which is plenty for 99% of requested projects. If you have a need for a longer inspected distance, give one of R&R Visual's solution specialist a call to discuss your options.
Reports are typically generated and handed over within 5 to 7 days of the data collection. This is dependent on project size and customer needs. If you have an extremely urgent matter, please discuss this with an R&R Visual solution specialist ahead of time.
All R&R Visual inspection technicians are fully PACP, LACP, and MACP certified and up to date.
The quickest answer is, you have to see the images! Simply stunning video quality. R&R uses only RapidView IBAK, true digital, high definition, 1080p cameras. The video is transferred over fiber optic cables to produce images that are free of noise and have not been converted to analog (where quality is lost). Also, when inspecting large diameter pipelines, you are able to get a much better image since the pipe wall is so far from the camera head... more pixel, higher quality.
Absolutely! We have many specially designed floatable vessels to transport our cameras through pipeline with high, or fast flows. We can also use a camera to inspect from the water line up and use a sonar to profile the water filled section to get a full 360 degree view.
Yes! We can export our data with shape files for integration into your existing GIS system. R&R has work with many government entities and successfully integrated our inspection data.
Most of R&R Visual's camera have the ability to use lasers to check diameter, deformation, and measure objects (either protruding or on the pipe wall). Some cameras use a single laser, using triangulation, while other use a dual diode laser for reference measurement. You also can check out our laser profiling services if you would like to collect geometry data on the entire pipe segment.
Absolutely and this is one of our specialties! We have portable systems we can hand carry, as well as a fleet of low-impact / tread-lightly vehicles that are outfitted with every piece of inspection equipment listed on our website. No matter if it is a steep bank, in a woods, or sitting in a marsh, we have the tools needed for a successful inspection.
Each of R&R Visual's inspection vehicles is outfitted with a climate controlled viewing / operator's office. You are welcome to relax and watch as we inspect. All we ask is that you follow the safety protocols specified by the technician.
